When you scan a meal, we collect the food photo you take or upload. The photo is compressed on your device before being sent to our server.
We generate a random anonymous device identifier to associate your meal logs with your device. This is not linked to your Apple ID, name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
AI-generated nutritional analysis results (calories, macros, vitamins, minerals, organ health scores) are stored on our server alongside your food photos.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personally identifiable information. No account or login is required.

OpenAI: Your food photos and AI chat messages are forwarded to OpenAI's API (api.openai.com) solely for the purpose of food recognition, nutritional analysis, and value corrections. OpenAI processes the data and returns results. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing. We do not send any personal information to OpenAI — only the food photo and chat text about the meal.
AI Chat Disclaimer: The AI nutrition chat is a correction tool only. Chat messages are temporary, not stored on our servers, and cleared when you log or cancel the meal. All AI-generated responses and corrections are approximate estimates for informational purposes only and should not be treated as professional nutritional, medical, or dietary advice.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties. No advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers receive your data.
Elephant Calorie Tracker is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information.

Before your first food scan, the app asks for your explicit consent to send your food photo to our server for AI analysis. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings. Without consent, the app will not send any photos.
